Imagine waking up every day and walking miles to fetch water. Not clean, clear water, but dirty, unsafe water from a river. This was the reality for Fatima, a young girl in Sierra Leone, and many others in her village. But now, thanks to Amity Charity, things have changed.
They’ve installed a river water treatment and reverse osmosis (RO) plant in her community, giving families access to clean, safe water for the first time. For Fatima, this means more time to go to school, play with friends, and dream about her future.
Sierra Leone struggles with poverty, disease, and a lack of clean water. Many drink from contaminated sources, causing illnesses like cholera. Women and girls spend hours fetching water, limiting time for school or work.
Amity Charity installed a water treatment plant in Sierra Leone, providing clean water and training locals to maintain it, ensuring long-term sustainability and community empowerment.
For Fatima, clean water means she can focus on school instead of spending hours fetching water. Her family is healthier because they’re not drinking dirty water. Other kids in the village get sick less often, and parents can work more to support their families. The whole community is stronger because of this one project.
The river water and RO plant don’t just provide clean water. It brings hope. It’s a lifeline for families who have struggled for years. It’s a chance for children to grow healthy and for parents to build a better life.
