Qurbani Campaign 2024

Sustaining Communities Beyond Eid

At Amity Global Foundation, our projects are always planned with the mindset of self-sustainability, ensuring that the benefits extend well beyond the immediate impact. Our Qurbani Campaign 2024 is a testament to this philosophy.

Conducted during Eid ul Adha in Sujawal village, Pakistan, this initiative not only provided essential nutrition to families during the festive period but also ensured that they would continue to benefit from it for months to come.

Beyond the 3 Days of Eid

Eid ul Adha is a time of joy and celebration, where communities come together to share blessings. However, the reality for many suffering communities is that the joy of having their favorite meat dishes often ends with the conclusion of the 3-day festive period. What about the days after Eid?

What if a family wants to celebrate an auspicious occasion with a hearty meal?

What if one of their members needs additional nutrition?

Or if a child craves the special dishes they enjoyed during Eid?

These are the questions that guided our planning for the Qurbani 2024 campaign. We wanted to ensure that the benefits of this initiative would continue to nourish and support these communities long after the festival was over.

The Campaign in Action

This year, we slaughtered 15 cows in Sujawal village, with five cows donated by Amity Global Foundation and ten sponsored by ICNA Relief Canada. Our team took great care in selecting healthy animals to ensure high-quality meat. Donors had the option to contribute from one share to six shares or sponsor a whole cow.

After the slaughtering process, skilled butchers meticulously cut the meat, which was then packaged in clean containers. We distributed 1,878 packages of fresh meat to families in the village, providing immediate relief and joy during Eid.

Sustaining Nutrition for Months

Understanding the need for continuous support, we implemented a strategy to store the remaining meat for gradual distribution in the upcoming months. The meat was stored in deep freezers powered by solar panels. This innovative solution ensures that the meat remains fresh despite electricity fluctuations and heat, which are common challenges in the region.

This approach aligns with our commitment to self-sustainability, allowing families to access nutritious meat well beyond the Eid period. Our initiative will support close to 137 homes, ensuring that they can enjoy their favorite dishes, celebrate special occasions, and meet their nutritional needs for months to come.

A Commitment to Self-Sustaining Communities

At Amity Global Foundation, we believe in empowering communities to become self-sustaining. Our Qurbani Campaign 2024 is a prime example of how thoughtful planning and innovative solutions can make a lasting impact. By addressing the needs of communities beyond the immediate festive period, we are fostering a future where they are more resilient and self-reliant.

We are proud of the success of this campaign and remain committed to our mission of creating self-sustaining communities. Together, we can continue to bring lasting change and hope to those in need.
