Qurbani 2025 with Amity

Summary Report

Eid al-Adha is one of the most significant holidays in the Islamic calendar, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) devotion and God's mercy. It is a time for prayer, reflection, and acts of charity, emphasizing community spirit and sharing with those in need.

Day’s Activities:

Our team engaged in a series of activities throughout Eid al-Adha, focusing on both spiritual observance and community outreach:

  1. Community Gathering of Sajawal:
    • Many team members began the day by attending the special Eid congregational prayers at Al Mustafa mosque (Al Mustafa masjid is another project of Amity Global Foundation). This enabled a sense of unity and allowed for personal reflection on the values of sacrifice and compassion.

  2. Qurbani (Sacrifice) Management and Distribution:
    • A central activity of Eid al-Adha is the ritual sacrifice of livestock (Qurbani). Our team facilitated the proper and humane execution of Qurbani, ensuring commitment to Islamic guidelines and hygienic practices.
    • The meat from the sacrifices was exactly portioned into seven shares with the name of every donor.

  3. Food Distribution Drives:
    • The primary focus of our on-the ground activities was the distribution of Qurbani meat to pre-identified deserving families, including widows, orphans, the elderly, and low-income households.
    • In addition to meat, supplementary food packages containing staples such as rice, flour, pulses, and cooking oil were distributed to ensure a more comprehensive meal for families.
    • Distribution points were strategically set up in Sajawal to maximize reach and accessibility for beneficiaries. For home-bound individuals, special delivery arrangements were made.

  4. Clothes Distribution:
    • To truly embrace the festive spirit of Eid, our team organized a special clothes distribution drive. Clothing items, for everyone, were sourced and distributed to ensure that even the most disadvantaged families could celebrate  Eid with dignity and joy. This initiative aimed to bring smiles to faces and allow everyone to participate fully in the festive atmosphere.

  5. Community Engagement and Well-being Visits:
    • Our volunteers conducted visits to homes in underserved areas, not only to deliver aid but also to spend time with families, offer Eid greetings, and inquire about their well-being.
    • Special attention was given to children, with small gifts or treats distributed to bring smiles and joy during the festive occasion.
    • These interactions provided valuable opportunities to assess ongoing needs and build stronger relationships within the community.

Team Accomplishments:

The dedication and efforts of our team resulted in significant accomplishments, directly impacting the lives of many:

  • 20 livestock animals humanely sacrificed: Our team successfully managed the Qurbani process for 20 animals, ensuring all religious and ethical standards were met.

  • Fresh meat distributed: A substantial quantity of nutritious meat was distributed, providing essential protein to families who often lack access to it.

  • Families received Qurbani meat shares: This translates to an estimated 2500 individuals benefiting directly from the meat distribution.

  • 20 volunteers actively participated: The successful execution of our Eid al-Adha activities was made possible by the tireless efforts of 20 dedicated volunteers, who contributed 36 hours of service.

  • Enhanced community goodwill and trust: Our visible presence and direct assistance during this significant holiday strengthened the community’s trust in Amity Global Foundation and reinforced our role as a compassionate and reliable support system.

  • Promoted the spirit of sharing and solidarity: Through our actions, we actively embodied the core principles of Eid al-Adha, encouraging generosity and fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards the less fortunate.

Eid al-Adha is a powerful reminder of the importance of selflessness and community. The efforts of the Amity Global Foundation team on this blessed day not only provided real support to hundreds of families but also uplifted spirits and reinforced the bonds of compassion within our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors, volunteers, and community partners whose invaluable support made these accomplishments possible. We remain committed to continuing our work, guided by the principles of humanity and service, in the days and months to come.
