Qurbani Campaign 2024

As part of our ongoing Food Rescue Program, Amity Global Foundation, in collaboration with ICNA Relief Canada,
carried out a successful Qurbani campaign in Sujawal village, Pakistan.
This year, we slaughtered 15 cows, with 5 provided by Amity and 10 generously sponsored by ICNA Relief Canada,
ensuring that the spirit of Eid ul Adha reached those who needed it most.

The Qurbani Process

Ensuring Quality and Care

Our Qurbani process prioritizes the selection of healthy and good-quality animals, ensuring that the meat distributed is of the highest standard. Donors were given flexible options to contribute, ranging from 1 share to 6 shares, or even a whole cow, based on their preferences and capacities.

On the day of Qurbani, each cow was slaughtered in the name of Allah, following Islamic principles. Skilled butchers carefully cut the meat, maintaining high standards of hygiene. The meat was then packaged in clean containers, ready for distribution.

Distribution and Long-Term Impact

Through this campaign, we distributed 1,878 packages of meat to families in Sujawal village, providing them with essential nutrition and allowing them to celebrate Eid ul Adha with dignity. This immediate distribution is a crucial aspect of our Food Rescue Program, addressing food insecurity in the community.

In addition to the immediate distribution, we have stored the remaining meat in deep freezers powered by solar panels. This innovative approach helps us combat the frequent electricity fluctuations and extreme heat in the region, ensuring the meat remains fresh. This stored meat will be gradually distributed over the upcoming months, offering a sustainable source of nutrition to the families.

A Collaborative Effort

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to ICNA Relief Canada for their generous sponsorship and to all our donors for their unwavering support. Your contributions have made a significant impact on the lives of many families in Sujawal.

Looking Ahead

The success of the Qurbani Campaign 2024 under our Food Rescue Program highlights the power of collaboration and community support. We are committed to continuing these efforts, ensuring that nutritious food reaches those in need, not just during special occasions but throughout the year.
